Francis Colacurcio Sr. was an American mobster and boss of the Seattle, Washington, crime family. One day, Frank and an associate were sitting in the lobby of the Lake Quinault Lodge, next to a big fireplace, talking business. And this woman comes up and starts looking at the coffee tables sitting between them. It’s for sale for $600. She sits down and rubs it, and pokes around and starts asking questions about it. Frank and his associate tell her they don’t know anything about it. While she’s sitting there examining the table, Frank can’t say what he wants to say. She just won’t leave. Finally, Frank stands up, goes over to the hotel man, peels off six $100 bills, walks back and throws the table in the fireplace. The woman took off like lightning.
